UK exhibitors at Foodex were feeling buoyant after meeting with importers, retailers and foodservice buyers at Foodex Tokyo last week.
With Japan having a strong snack bar culture, Eat Natural were keen to explore opportunities for their iconic brand which had interest from a number of importers. Likewise, Folkington’s had interest from a number of importers keen to add their range of fruit juices and mixer drinks to their portfolio.
As always, tea featured prominently within the pavilion with Hampstead Tea London, English Tea Shop and Darvilles of Windsor all keen to extend their reach in to the Japanese market.
The AHDB stand, including C&K Meats, Norwest Foods International and Karro was a popular stopping point for all visitors as the smell of British bacon and pork chops wafted through the hall.
Bakery products from Huffkins’ traditional luxury fruit cakes to Signature Flatbreads range of wraps, naans and pitta and flatbreads meant there was something for everybody to enjoy at the show and all our exhibitors are confident for an increase in sales to Japan in the forthcoming months.
