Remote (UK-based) | Full-Time
The Role
We're looking for a driven, self-motivated Business Development Manager to lead new business sales across our full portfolio of food and drink exhibitions - both established events and new shows we bring into the business. This is a target-driven, revenue-generating role at the heart of PS8's growth strategy, with the autonomy to build your own pipeline and the support of a close-knit remote team behind you.
You'll report into the Director of Events – Food & Drink and be responsible for winning new exhibitors, growing space sales at existing events, and unlocking new revenue streams through sponsorship - including UK area/pavilion sponsorship and event sponsorship packages.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new business across PS8's full events portfolio, including new shows as they're added to the calendar
- Grow revenue at existing events by increasing the space taken by current and returning exhibitors
- Consistently meet and exceed agreed sales targets across all shows
- Identify, pitch, and close sponsorship opportunities, including UK area/pavilion sponsorship and bespoke event sponsorship packages
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, from prospecting through to close
- Develop a solid understanding of each show's audience, exhibitor base, and competitive landscape to inform your sales approach
- Maintain accurate records of prospects, pipeline, and revenue forecasting using PS8's CRM/sales systems
- Represent PS8 professionally at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings as required
- Work collaboratively with the wider remote team, including marketing, event delivery, and design colleagues, to ensure a joined-up client experience
- Report regularly on performance against targets to senior management and report monthly to external show organisers for agency commission sales
Key Performance Metrics
- New business generated at new shows added to the portfolio
- Increase in space sold at existing/returning events
- Achievement against overall sales targets
- Sponsorship revenue generated (UK area sponsorship and event sponsorship packages)
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of sales experience, ideally in a target-driven, new business environment
- Experience selling into the exhibition, events, or trade show industry
- Food and drink industry experience is a strong plus, but not essential
- A proven track record of hitting and exceeding sales targets
- Confident, resilient, and self-motivated — comfortable managing your own time and pipeline in a remote role
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills, with the ability to sell both exhibition space and sponsorship packages
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Comfortable working independently while staying closely connected to a remote team
- Willingness to travel to shows and client meetings as required
What We Offer
- Fully remote working with a flexible, supportive team culture
- The opportunity to build and shape new business across an expanding portfolio of shows
- Involvement in high-profile UK Pavilion and government-partnered events
- Competitive salary plus performance-related commission/bonus structure
- International travel to events, with travel expenses
- 25 days annual leave allowance
