Food & Hotel Asia - We get set for Singapore

The UK will once again have a strong national pavilion at FHA, the biennial show taking place in Singapore 24-27 April.  FHA sees over 30 UK companies exhibiting on the UK Pavilion, all looking to grow their international business, particularly across SE Asia.

The UK is renowned for its excellent food and drink, with an established reputation as a land of quality, reliability and transparency.

“The UK presence at FHA 2018 has an impressive showing of companies in the confectionery, dairy, grocery and snack sectors, artisan drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic as well as organic products.  UK manufacturers have a tremendous reputation for quality which is reflected in the vast range of premium and value products across the pavilion.” – Sandra Sullivan MBE, Director PS8 Ltd and FDEA.

Leading the UK participation at FHA is the Food & Drink Exporters Association (FDEA) which represents UK companies both to the international buying community and to the UK government. A not for profit trade association, the FDEA is a membership organisation run by experienced exporters. The members include many well-known brands who are already well established in exports, through to smaller companies looking to take their first steps into export. The directory of members can be viewed online at www.ukfdea.com. FDEA, along with its event delivery partner PS8 Ltd, organises UK pavilions at international trade shows plus a programme of market insight events, meet the buyers and export workshops, including the UK pavilion at ISM.

Alongside major exporters such as Premier Exports who offer an extensive range of grocery and drink products, visitors to the UK groups will be able to meet exciting first-time exhibitors including Free’ist, a sugar free/no added sugar brand that has a range of tasty snacks including popcorns, chocolates and cookies, Yew Tree Dairy, manufacturers of dairy products including milk powders, concentrates, liquid milk and cream, and Nashville Food Group exhibiting quality jams and spreads, specifically designed and tailored for the hospitality industry.

Dairy producers once again feature strongly in the pavilion with AHDB British Dairy, Somerdale International, Yew Tree Dairy, Lactalis, Wensleydale, Lye Cross Farm and Freshways Dairystix showcasing the best of British cheese, cream, butter and UHT long life milk products as well as Cornish clotted cream from AE Roddas

Non-alcoholic drinks also feature prominently with artisan cordials and presses from Belvoir Fruit Farms, speciality juices and mixers from Folkington’s, coconut water drinks and Better For You health snacks from CocoMojo and the Happy Monkey range of children’s smoothies and milk shake drinks, joining Devonshire Dairy with a selection of milk shakes and fruit drinks for children.  Alcoholic drinks are also represented by Northern Ireland-based whiskey producer The Quiet Man Distillery.

Snacks are represented by Seabrook Crisps, Pipers Crisps and Glens of Antrim Crisps and a range of innovative confectionery products ideal for gifting will be showcased by Happy Jackson by Creme d’Or.  Whilst Paterson Arran will focus on their Scottish heritage with a range of shortbread, cookies, biscuits and condiments for both retail and foodservice.

Heavenly Kids Organic will present a range of Guilt-free organic baby weening meals and snacks, and Karimix unlocks eclectic fusion and heritage flavours offering a range of sublime and tantalizing tastes, with its delectable sauces, marinades, pastes and dressings, all made in the UK.

UF International is a UK manufacturer and export distributor of UK food and drink brands to international markets.  Whilst Kettyle Foods will be highlighting their range of Dry aged Beef, Lough Erne Lamb, Fermanagh Free Range Chicken, Fermanagh Bacon and Rose Veal.

UK regional governments are represented by Scottish Development International showcasing a range of Scottish food and drink products as well as Invest Northern Ireland giving the regional identity adopted by 6 food companies showcasing their products at FHA 2018.

“UK companies continue to be very positive about their sales to international markets. It is particularly encouraging at this time of change that exports are still growing in our top EU markets and that new markets in Asia are gaining traction.  Our challenge is to ensure that exporters have the confidence to develop markets closer to home, the skills and knowledge to explore the important but often complex markets further afield and to create real meet the buyer opportunities through shows such as FHA”, Sullivan added.

In addition to FHA, PS8 organise UK pavilions at around 15 other major international food and drink shows at which many the FHA exhibitors will also be taking part.
